This is fascinating! And surprising! USA didn’t top even one list.

Thank you for sharing this Ontario. It is very interesting. Something I noted, is the US cardiology push for chicken and fish over red meat. Even though there have been studies, like the whole butter fiasco from when we were younger, showing that sat fat is not as bad as they thought for you.

I'm an outlier I guess, I love me my beef. Chicken and fish are distant choices. Pork would have to have second place for me. Just my personal preference in taste, not connected to any dos or don'ts.

I'd be interested to hear other's choices of meats and what order of preference.

Beef, chicken, pork, seafood. Bacon is #1, but steak is #2. Laughing

I'm with Pedi on the #1 choice - bacon. Life is better with bacon. I live for a nice, salty piece of cured, smoked pork. Is there anything more heavenly?

Then it's beef. But I am not a fan of steak. I'll eat it but I find it incredibly boring. Just a big old hunk of meat slapped on your plate. Sure, it's grilled and is nice and tender, etc but still, boring. If I eat steak it needs help like onions and mushrooms and a nice gorgonzola sauce on it. However, a perfectly grilled home-made hamburger with all the fixings is my favourite thing to eat, hands-down.

I grew up on fish (lived in what was, at the time, the largest fresh water fishing port in the world) as it was readily available and fresh off the boat. Fish will always hold a dear spot in my culinary heart.

Great....now my mouth is watering.

I do love bacon, and yeah it may trump beef. And yes a well dressed burger is really delish. However, since I've given up the bun, it's a bit different.

NM....when a really good burger is up for grabs then I'm eating with a bun. A GF bun, but a bun, nonetheless. If I am out and have to eat at a restaurant then I totally forgo the bun - even if it's GF. I'm only wasting the carbs on a bun if the burger is going to be worthy. It has to be "bun-worthy". LOL!

I haven't found a GF bun that's been worth it. Even though the burger might, for me the GF bun ruins what should have been good.

NM, we have a Canadian GF company called O'Doughs. They make a really, really good GF bun.

I’m in the same ballpark - well, actually on the same base.  A really good hamburger is unbeatable.  I’m a Steak Girl through and through, all beef really.  It’s probably in my head, but when I’m feeling a bit off or weak, a nice hunka chuncka beef sets me right.  Bacon is in a class of its own but Australian bacon doesn’t do it for me.  Really miss American 🥓 bacon.  I love turkey but it’s not so popular here.  Definitely have my chicken moments and never say no to fish.  Wait, I forgot pork.  Pork is delicious.  I will slot that in after beef.  Despite having crap bacon we have wonderful pork here.

I use a gf bagel for a bun.  It’s perfectly adequate.  The local grocery does passable gf bread products that I eat occasionally because I’m only human and a good burger deserves a bun.

I am in the all the meats group, too. Difficult to pick a favorite. We try to mix it up to get variety. I don’t care for octopus/squid or offal or varmint.

While beef is my all time fav, I mix it up as well.

I do love liver and onions w/bacon of course. Other parts of offal, I haven't had, so I can't really say. yeah I'll pass on the varmints too.
