How are people responding to your president's latest announcement on vaccinating entire federal workforce, if I understand it correctly?

I haven't had a chance to listen to Prez Bid~n's speech. Very busy y'day with work, b'day celebration. So can't provide any input.

The announcements yesterday were:

That all Federal employees and contractors must be vaccinated. There are provisions for medical or religious accomodation.

That OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) will impliment a new rule requiring employees at private companies with 100 or more employees to be vaccinated or to produce a weekly negative Covid test.

Reactions so far are as expected from the various camps.

To add to Ekbas answer, I received notification today that those with the 100 or more will be fined 14,000, per incident of non-compliant employees. I thankfully only have 11 employees, so it doesn't affect me yet. However, I don't like them making the employer responsible or fining them. I don't belive it is my place to tell someone what to do with their body. I have said from the begining, that is between the employee an their Dr. I don't know if any of them have contraindication's to the vax, nor does the gov't.

I do understand all the reasons they are trying to go this route, but it needs to fall to each individual person to deal with what they want to do. Its not fair to the employer. Thats a lot of money if you have employees that don't want or can't get the vax. And you can't just fire them, maybe you could, but generally speaking that isn't always practical.

ooh, Ontario, I just had a read of those rules. They are very broad. I'm so sorry to see everyone's freedom restricted like this.

I imagine youth will be rushing to vaccinate as they won't see how they could bear life without it.

Hmm, sounds vaguely familiar to a few of the arguments I've heard & made but nicely packaged up in one place, and has a lot more items. It may tax the attention span of Average Joe/Jane as it is fairly long and has so many links.

Rig, to that, above. Canada is now giving out THIRD boosters. It's never gonna end. And, suddenly the flu is back. There are ads everywhere now that say you should get your flu shot to protect you. But last year??? Nary an ad for the flu shot. Things that make you go.....hhmmm....
