Thanks, Rig. I just don't know how I could send my child off to put his life on the line. Hats off to military moms and dads. He has not brought up the subject with us, so we're waiting for him to broach the subject. He has taken a renewed interest in shooting, which is great; he is really, really good. At first we were wondering if we should be concerned. But the military interest explains it. I know he needs to challenge himself physically. I'm just hoping we can find something a little less risky that will satisfy that need.

Still here, still checking in.... How are you doing? Any new developments?

Can't type what I want, cuz, yanno, say it forget it and write it regret it, but all is as good as it can be.

Definitely sounds more dire than it is, but it's not, for reals.

IN OTHER KETO NEWS: I've been "bulking" (lol) the last two weeks. I've kept calories around 1800 and have been trying to train 5 days a week instead of just three, which has been going well. Noticed an uptick in weight cuz of water and now I'm right back to where I was three weeks ago.. which pisses me off because now I know I could have been eating MOAR FOODZ ALL ALONG, YO! Ah well, 49 and still living and learning. Sad fact.

Did something lame to my left shoulder on Sunday or Monday (zero clue what) so have been over-training legs instead since then...

One of these days I'll be able to update my before and after in this place to After and THEN AFTER with much muscle..... Hopefully.

*I* notice good things and so does the Ball and Chain, but yanno, can't believe anything, for realz.

You're back! Thanks for the update. You answered one of the questions I had for you. I was wondering if you thought you could eat more calories now and maintain. Glad to hear that you can. I have still not lost one single pound. A bit frustrating. I do find this way of eating to be pretty easy, so it's not bad. Just not seeing any real results. Sleep is a little better; still have a hard time getting out of bed. It would be nice if things were a bit more, ahem, regular, if you know what I mean. Every other day just isn't good enough. Never had that problem before. Anyhoo, keep on lifting!

So bad news: the stomach flu has pretty much ravaged the whole family this week. Good news: at least I didn't throw up. Bad news: still have horrible headache and stomach cramps. Good news: down 2 pounds. Keto has been out the window. Haven't eaten much, but what I have eaten was all carbs. Can't even think about eating fat. Hoping I can start easing back into it tomorrow. It's been a really rough week!

Argh!!! SO SORRY TO HEAR THAT. It is the WORST when it cycles through the family. Jeeeeeeze, that sucks so bad Sad

Definitely eat the carbs.. I swear it's the only thing that helps.. and the more processed the better! Mmmmm saltine crackers... mmmm, ritz.... ah wonder bread toast...

It's going through the neighborhood. It's weird, but of four families on the street, the moms are the only ones who aren't throwing up. They're not feeling well- tired, stomach cramps, etc. - but not throwing up. Of the six of us, only our oldest hasn't gotten sick. Somehow he usually avoids it.

Thought I'd do a quick update. Still keto about 90% of the time. Occasional carb ups, usually in the evening. I finally broke down and started to weigh and take measurements once a week. Well, I weighed myself anyway. Didn't always get around to measurements. I have no idea whether my scale is actually accurate, but works for trends. Measurements are bust, waist ( at navel), and hips (2" below top of hip bone).

5/7. 129.8
32 1/2"
31 1/2"
35 3/8"

5/14. 130.5
32 3/8"
30 1/2"
34 3/8

5/21. 129.3

5/29. 128.4

6/4. 127.2

34 1/4"

At least I'm finally moving in the right direction.
