sorry about the drainage.  I suppose the body is trying to take care of itself although what do I know?

Take care Pedi

Yes, I get bored and look for things to do. I try to find stuff that doesn't involve physical movement and lifting. That leaves a lot of mental lifting. Yes, the drainage is the body healing from the invasion. It either comes out this way or has to be reabsorbed when the tube comes out.

Cleaned up today, it is amazing how good and yet exhausting a shower feels. Went to the grocery store and picked up some stuff for tomorrow. Ate some lunch and then went down for a nap. Got woke up and feel really groggy - could have used another 1/2 hour of sleep probably.

Changed my mind about dinner and will put hot pot into the IP. I will have DH do the heavy lifting.

I know you have a lot on your plate but do take care and try to take it easy. What advise would you give your patients at this point post op?

To do what they feel they are up to, basically. Unfortunately my 2 weeks off ended last Friday, so tomorrow it is off to campus. If I am totally overwhelmed, I will put in for more time off.

I baked more bacon - I feel like I am surviving on bacon. It is what I had for dinner.

Getting ready to go to bed early, so I can get up at the crack of dawn.

Worry about your ability to "take it easy".

Sleep last night was restless. Got up at 4 and was out the door before 5. Meetings went well, students advised, contract picked up (good news I got a substantial raise, bad news I did not get paid more for being Director and what they are paying me is not acceptable). I discussed with my Dean and she is discussing with higher-ups.

Home in time to let dogs out, change clothes and then swing thru and get a coffee before my hair appointment. A very unrushed, relaxing time with multiple scalp massages.

Had odds and ends plus bacon for dinner.

Drainage has turned more yellow-pink which is a great sign. I am hopeful that Danny the drain will be gone Friday! Laughing

Tomorrow, I can sleep in really late as the only thing I have to do is a spa appointment at 1:30 pm. (See Pam, I'm trying to take it easy.)

Glad to hear there is an end in sight for the drain. Scalp massage and spa appointment sound like just the thing!

Hope the salary gets tweaked. I'm waiting to hear about a few raises, both for myself and some employees - University bureaucracy is crazy making!

Bacon for the win!

Bye bye Danny the drain! He's done a good job it seems.

Sounds like a good plan to me.  Smile As does the non-campus rule for now. Hope the financial issues get sorted out soon.

Sending healing thoughts your way.

Thanks, Lovebird.

Great sleep last night. Lazy morning until my spa time.

Pam, you will be proud of me. I've spent some time this morning moving any chore/duty that might involve any physical effort until June/July. This will give me plenty of time to heal the incision! Tonight I will start plugging in mental stuff that needs doing so I do not get bored.

Thank you NM and Tomi.

Spa day was very relaxing. I am glad I did not reschedule it waiting on Danny.

DH should be home soon. It looks like it is going to storm outside.

Great sleep last night. Got up a bit earlier than I had to so was anticipating a nice slow morning, but instead got involved in 2 conference calls that resulted in me having to go to campus. Had a lunch meeting and then went to my surgeon appointment. I am sorry to announce that Danny is no longer with us, he has gone on to a better place. Laughing The surgeon wants to see me Wednesday in case I have a fluid build up that needs draining and warned me to do nothing physical until then.

I had started Mexican Chicken soup in the slow cooker before I left the house and it was ready for dinner. It was yummy as usual, I did have a side of bacon with mine. I am really on a bacon kick right now.

Back to sleeping sitting up for two nights to help avoid any sheer at the drain site. Trying to avoid having to have her stick a needle in and drain any fluid build up.

The solution for my director pay issue is I will get one class release instead. Knowing what I get paid for teaching a class when I teach extra in the summer, this works out to more $/month even though I am really getting paid the same salary to do less. It will give me more time to work on stuff though, so that is good. Since they could not increase the pay for the director position, I suggested the Dean started talking about increasing my pay next contract. We shall see.

I should try that soup sometime. It sounds yummy.

I hope for your director to follow through with an increase for next year. This reminds me of when the County had us take a day off a week....I cannot recall the reason right now but it went on for quite a long time. We just upped our deductibles and I ended up making the same amount during that time period.

Hope the doggies leave you alone while sleeping upward. Hope you do not end up with a stiff neck.

Here's the soup recipe I follow, Pam https://onceamonthmeals.com/recipes/slow-cooker-mexican-chicken-soup/  I do not cook the chicken ahead of time if using fresh, but have also used leftover cooked chicken. It's good either way.

Dogs were very good. My Shilo is very worried about me and stuck really close. He also growls at DH when he comes near the bed.

Unfortunately sleeping sitting up does not result in a great night's sleep. Thankfully, I can pretty much stay in bed today and catch up on some recorded shows while working on some reading. I probably will take a nap mid-day.

The pressure dressing I put on last night was saturated this morning. I was able to massage out some additional fluid before applying another dressing and zipping myself into a new compression garment.

Dinner is meatloaf and mashed potatoes.
