Been wondering where you were! Now I know.

I feel the same about some of my belongings...would like new but do I really need new? Probably not.

I recently loaned my KonMarie book to a fastidious housekeeper who actually is enjoying it and downsizing herself.

Great job Annie. Something I desperately need to do. Now to find the time.

Congrats on the resolve to continue spurred on by the time it took to do what you did.

Today was a great hike, we climbed a feature we have not done before.  It is called the Hump because of its shape, much more of a square than a peak.  I added a rock to the cairn that other climbers have constructed at the top. The views were great in 360o.

Slightly similar area to last time I posted but you can see we have had snow since.  It was pretty cold up there, especially in the wind, which meant we had the place mostly to ourselves.

The little tarn is a real drawcard for foreign tourists, unfortunately the signposting is inadequate and we met a girl travelling exactly the wrong direction to find it and were able to point her the right way, she would have had a very disappointing day out otherwise.

That mountain draws one in. How beautiful especially with the tarn. Never heard that term before.

Sounds like a nice hike and being able to assist someone else made it a real success.

Re: Simply Primal - Annie Tries Again

Thanks all.  It was a spectacular day out and I'm glad we had it because today we have howling gales and it would be atrocious up there.

My interview was full on, it took at least a couple of hours, me against three Smile  I am pretty sure they like me, but the advertised position was for a pay rate well beneath what my experience is worth.  I was hoping to negotiate fewer hours in return, but it seems they really want a full timer.  They may perhaps offer me more, in which case I would have to take all or nothing.

Taking all means sacrificing my piano students and putting all my eggs in one basket regarding income. But I am pretty tired of living on next to nothing.  So, maybe DH will become a house husband.  He thinks he can do it, but I'm not sure either of us will prefer it.

Considering he doesn't even notice if I do the housework or not, it could be a disaster.   This suits me well enough when I can do it at my own whim, but how far it would be left to go before he intervened has never yet been revealed.

I am not holding my breath, there are other candidates to interview and I don't expect to hear for at least a week.

Somehow I missed that you were interviewing. Good luck with the outcome.

Being that your DH said he'd help is a big deal in my book. I remember begging to work and telling mine that I could do it all. And I did.

Annie I hope this job, if offered to you, works out to be just what you need. If not, then I’m sure something else will come along that is a better fit, either with time or compensation.

Well, NM, something else suddenly came along. The thing is, I really don't know if it's a better fit. I interviewed for it a couple of weeks ago, but missed out. Now their first choice person has reneged and I am back in the running. She wants an answer tomorrow, but I have yet to hear from yesterday's interview, which had begun feeling like a way more fun position. Pros and cons to each. After several months without even a bite, I never expected to have this conundrum.

Wow good conundrum to have. Today’s offer is a sure thing, the other up in the air. But you do have to weigh all the pros and cons. Would this one be less hours? I know you mention the one you just interviewed for had more hours than you really wanted.

Good luck with your decision

Is it unwise to contact the recent interview company and find out when they will be making their decision while showing interest in the position?

Good luck with the decision(s) you need to make.

Re: Simply Primal - Annie Tries Again

NM and Pam, good comments and questions along the lines of what is circling in my brain. I am off to bed soon but my current assessment is:

1) Today's rather unenthusiastic offer doesn't appeal, even if other job falls through.

2) Yesterday's interview was for very cool job with good pay.  Offer may or may not eventuate. If it does will have to be weighed against my other circumstances ie, my students (and to a lesser extent my DH's housework).

Given how long the first outfit has spent first holding my application, eventually granting interview, finally rejecting me and five days later changing their minds, I can probably delay my answer while I ask them more information etc. But there is not much point unless I am still open to taking it.

If I were considering it more seriously, I could tell the others I have an offer in the wings but I will hold that idea for now.  I don't want them to think I have become less keen.
