Chia Seeds
Are they considered paleo?
I have a bag of Bob's Red Mill.
Serving:
2 tbsps are 130 calories
8 g fat
10g carbs
6g protein
Contain 4710mg of Omega fatty acids.
Anyone have a recipe?
I have had this bag for some time and veered away from paleo over the years.
What are your thoughts on it?

Re: Chia Seeds
I'll put them in hot pepper brine (habanero mainly) and mix em into salads.
I wouldn't cook them, but soak and eat raw on other things or by itself is awesome.
I also eat flax seeds as a snack. But I am weird.

Re: Chia Seeds
A recipe I like from Mark's Keto book is his Chia Pudding.
I do it in a high speed blendtec, but you can just mix.
1/4 c chia seeds
1 c. coconut milk (the canned kind)
1/4 tsp vanilla
Flavoring - he uses 1 tsp Chai spice, I've subbed in Pumpkin spice, or cocoa
If I remember correctly he calls for a little Stevia. I can't use stevia and since I buried my sweet tooth mostly, I don't add any sweetener, but to each is own.
Blend for about 30 sec. Put into 2 containers, fridge overnight or for a few hours and enjoy
Pinterest has a bunch of recipes for this as well.

Re: Chia Seeds
I think Chia is pretty darn paleo. It's very nutritious and is awesome in smoothies.

Re: Chia Seeds
I'm basically snacking on flax by the lb. Chia, I still have to put it in something. Flax, I eat as is right out of the bottle, 1 seed @ a time, breaking its hull and chewing it up thorougly. Flax is very very estrogenic, however, I have a bigger belly for my body than legs. As in levi's 501's that fit my waist are loose in the thigh. So Flax away is the motto.
