Made it! 2 hour delay on stopover, but all good. Lovely hotel on the beach. Unfortunately the pork belly tacos are no longer on the menu, but had a pork belly app with kimchi, heart of palm and wild mushrooms in dashi, then small portion of sea bass. Lovely. Tomorrow is walk on the beach, some gym time ( one of the best hotel gyms I’ve seen). Walk down the street for a bottle of wine and find a local eatery for early dinner.

Slept 10 hours last night, well needed after the less than 5 before yesterday’s flight. Walked 2 miles down the beach with a coffee, then went to the gym, hubby did his lifting routine while I did physio recommended stuff. Showered, and did the beachside walkway , picked up a couple of last minute items and stopped for a margarita and early seafood dinner. Back at hotel chillaxing on the patio lounging area, have a bottle of wine for later. Nearly 6 miles walking today. Leave for the cruise port around 11am, sail at 4.

Off cruise on Sunday, was fabulous. Another 2 nights at Ft Lauderdale beach resort hotel. Flight delays left us missing connection in Toronto, but were already rebooked on next flight 2 hours later. Home just after 9pm. Tired, have to go to work tomorrow while hubby has another day off. Have GP appt at 910am, so will go straight there and into the office after. Expect a full day of email catching up.

More on cruise later. It was a great recharge week for both of us, and very good for recharging the closeness that often gets missed in the every day business of work and household chores.

Damn, started a long post that vanished Mad

Not necessarily so reseted, as we got home after a long day after 9pm Tues, needed time to wind down after the lengthy travel day, so was uo too late then into work for am.  Saw GP Wed am, progress coming on more referrals:  dental for snoring oral appliance, adaptive exercise specialist, chronic pain group at OSI clinic, Holter monitor for sporadic but recurrent palpitations.  Maybe more bloodwork and/or referral to rheumatologist for psychiatrist recommendation about potential early autoimmune issues.  He has also reminded me that if I need to cut back work hours, he can make that official should I want/need.  Current boss is okay with me coming in late most days as I often need more time to sort out morning anxiety before coming in.  Resisting needing formal limitations, but nice to know its an option that I may need to opt for.

See psychiatrist tomorrow, increase SSNRI dose today with intent to up again in a week.

Ah, the cruise.  2 lovely days in Florida, checking in and boarding went smoother than in the past.  Onboard by noon, luggage in cabin be 3 or so.  2 sea days, spent exploring newer, larger ship.  Found many lovely cozy places to hang out and read.  Walked the decks and visited the well equipped gym (hubby went there mostly every day).  I got in 10000 steps most days,

First port was Sint Maarten.  Took a tour of both Dutch and French sides if the island.  Much devastation still blatantly evident from the recent hurricanes.  All the big resort hotels are closed for repairs, hope to open in 2019.  Saw the beach where the large planes land just meters above the beach, very cool.

Next port at St Lucia.  Think this is where we has a great eco style tour and zip lining.  Always fun.  The guides were extremely knowledgeable of the history, flora and fauna and so on.  Fun day.

More later.  Bedtime is looming and I need it.  The days away when we didn’t have early plans had me sleeping anywhere from 9-11 hours Shocked .

Son #2 is leaving with GF for 10 days in Thailand on Sunday.  He’s been ill the past few days, having to miss work.  At my recommendation, he went to walk in clinic today and has a definite ear infection, so started azithromycin for 5 days.  I’ve stocked him up with sudafed and dristan if needed for the long flights, plus instructions on staying super hydrated.  He’s already feeling better after first dose, and got a lot accomplished today for the trip.  And submitted his online application for local university for fall semester.  Looking good.  Of course, we’re giving him lots of travel tips, as this is very new for the both of them as an independent trip.

More travel tales for another day.  Son #1 was home for his reading week when we returned, mostly to see GF, all well there.  Son #2 is currently on a flight between Hong Kong and Ko Samui Thailand for a holiday that we are funding (airfare and air B&B only).  Whot??  Had texts from Hong Kong, all good so far, though he was ill last week, missing 3 days of work and went to clinic on Thursday to get azithromycin for ear issues.  Flights managing okay thus far though I gave him sudafed and dristan just in case.

Saw psychiatrist on Friday, we are aggressively upping the Effexor dose, cut back on clonazepam due to sedation, but use Ativan liberally as needed.

Snow day today.  20 cm heavy wet stuff, didn’t have to go into work, hubby shoveled 3 times.  He’s away from tomorrow afternoon to Friday, so I have the rest of the week to myself.  Rather nice.

Carrying on for now, missing the warm holiday bliss despite just above freezing temps here.  Happy to only have to cook for myself for the next few days.

Uneventful week. Catching up on stuff at work, though not particularly interested... have to write 2 annual performance evaluations this week. Was a bad start to my morning on Friday, so emailed boss for his ok to work from home. Low key day. Hubby home that night, and we had a reasonable lazy but decent weekend. Our closeness remains at a good new place since the holiday. He leaves again tomorrow until late Wed night, but that’s all fine.

Son #2 has sent various updates and pics from Thailand, seems to be having a fabulous time. One day left in Ko Samui then a couple of days in Bangkok before returning home on Saturday.

Mood and affect still on the flat side, anxiety waxes and wanes. Upped the Effexor dose 2 days ago, still very fatigued in the am, despite sleeping for 10-11 hours each of the last 2 nights. Feeling very tired all day. Met with rehab exercise specialist on Thursday, gave him my physical issues background along with a bit of the MH stuff, he’s going to work on putting together a fitness program to work around the physical limitations and focus on functional fitness for being able to maintain an active next few decades. Encouraging. I have known this fitness dude from the base casually for many years, so trust his opinion. And no cost to me. Received paperwork from the OSI clinic re their chronic pain group, filled out extensive background questionnaires, had phone initial interview, and will be placed on their waitlist. No idea on timelines.

Will post more on the cruise, hopefully with pics, but not today. Have caught up on most of your journals, though have not posted, am always pleased to read everyone else’s goings on.
