Thanks all! It’s early days yet, I know. The OT told me that 12 weeks is pretty much the landmark for an injury such as mine.

Still wrestling with admin and our leaving date is not certain. That is the way of things.

Cleared an admin hurdle today, a large one!  So things are moving!  And so are we Smile

I read an article about exercise years ago that has stuck with me - it needs to be hard enough to be challenging and get results, but not so hard that it is discouraging and leads to injury. I think that's right. Finding that sweet spot where one feels one is getting fitter and stronger and feeling it is a job well done and not crossing into beating oneself up. I feel like I'm doing a good job at that right now! cat

Congrats on all the positives TW.

Seems like the move will happen post haste at this point.

Happy you’ve found the exercise sweet spot even while injured. Good for you.

The Walrus wrote:Not a royal watcher or celebrity fan, but hey, Markle’s dress was quite a stunner.  Actually, I really enjoyed looking at all of the dresses, so stylish and happy.  The queen looked magnificent!

Also watched the choir’s performance - stunning.  What voices!  And passion!  And if you know anything about choral singing - that is seriously difficult.

I loved the choir too, the conductor was amazing. Their outfits were also superb, and like you I enjoyed looking at everyone's dresses. Actually, I loved the whole ceremony.

Anyone still read MDA? I notice that Mark has expressed a new opinion about women and IF, and also he has moved to Miami!

My guess is Sisson finally succumbed to the issues Cauli-fornia has with property values, taxes, and over the top state gov led by "Moonbeam" Brown. His move to FL will address these while still giving him a quite warm climate and ocean access. Although he didn't 'zactly go to the lower property value area in FL. I'm not a big fan of the SE corner of Fl.

I routinely check MDA to see if the Daily Blog has anything of interest. I still find the Weekend Link Love to be a mainstay.  The last article on women/IF is here:

Just fell down a rabbit hole and listened to Mark’s interview in a podcast called The Failure Factor - really interesting to hear him talk about his career and overcoming problems along the way. And yeah, I love his mayo and one of my happiest days n my new life in Australia was finding it available from iHerb!

I IF’d for ages, although certainly not since my injury.

Crappy day. Lots of pain and swelling, no idea why it is suddenly worse. Cried a lot. OTOH Dream is getting ready for his new job and is glowing. I'm trying to soak up some of that.

I finally watched the 'fiery sermon' from the royal wedding last week. Quite enjoyed it, but am surprised at the reaction to it. Guess not many folks attend church these days, because that's just church. Ain't nothing unusual about it. Bit too long perhaps.

I hope the pain and swelling dies down.

I guess some of the tears could be from stress. You just moved 1/2 way around the world and now are moving again. Barely got settled.

Hugs.

Went to OT (pretty much the highlight of my week) and she was pleased with my progress and gave me a smaller compression glove, which will help with the swelling. I'm in better spirits, thanks all for the good wishes. And tomorrow Dream and I go to our new hometown to hunt for a new home and for him to start work. We will come back on Friday, and then move our belongings next week. Wahoo!

Re: Glad to be here!

So - back from our visit to country Victoria. We had a great time, loved it, and a very cute funky little house to live in. Well, not so little, in fact it is quite large. Dream got a good start to his new job, I spent a fair amount of time in an Irish pub drinking cider and strolling around the lake and botanical gardens. The climate is temperate, meaning that a large variety of trees and plants thrive there. Fir trees, cypress, palms, and maples! Lavender everywhere, roses.

My hand is coming along and the pain is finally gone, has subsided to discomfort. It is, however, very, very weak, very swollen, and hopelessly stiff. I’m finding it a bit discouraging as I’m working so hard for such glacial progress. Three steps forward and two steps back. I so want to be normal!

TW so happy to hear you found a home and a decent climat with wonderful beauty besides.

Praying the hand starts coming around soon. It was a rough break, but I know you’ll have success with all the work you’ve been putting in.

Hugs
