Green, lovely, rugged, yummy - that's my life.

Tonight, we will be eating a lamb called Rupert. At least, he was called Rupert before he became dangerous and got turned into sausages.

Pistol squats - five on each leg (it may even have been 6 or 7, I forgot once I'd done them).
Cold showers - may have to take them earlier in the evening, my DH complained I was cold.

Maybe the trig was damaged in a storm?

Maybe. But it had survived many until now. Maybe it has been vandalised, or is being dismantled. A pity in either case.

Beautiful picture that shows so much more than a boulder!
The Appalachian Trail would be amazing. My nephew his sights on it, I hope he can get there.

15 pressups. Followed by cold shower, which I didn't enjoy as much as sometimes, perhaps because it's not such a meltingly hot day. Shampoo doesn't lather up quite so well in cold water either. Feeling refreshed and having a hot drink before bed so as not to chill out husband again.

Pleasant family walk in the domain this evening, the light on the grassy field was gorgeous.

This hiking pic is from last week:

Last week's hiking picture is such a good shot! Foreground and the creek takes you all the way down into the valley.

You and your pistol squats put me to shame.

Annie I do hope to visit that part of the world once I can travel again. There is also a gal from Australia on the ALS forums I'd like to visit as well. Have to start planning for a trip that way. Smile thank you for the invite.

Jeangenie, I have learnt something.  The name Lake Quill didn't ring a bell, so I googled.  I have heard of Sutherland Falls, which is about as far from home as could be in NZ, but I didn't know about the lake.  Here are some more NZ lakes. I have seen about half of them.

WOW, so beautiful. Can imagine waking up on the shore of Lake Wanaka. Such mind expanding beauty. Wish this is was my backyard.

Your last pic and lighting is incredible. In the series, The Crown, there is an episode that shows The Prince Consort getting flying lessons over green fields. A breathtaking view with just this type of gorgeous lighting. My favorite kind.

Thanks. It was an overcast day, much better than hot sunshine both for hiking in an exposed river bed and for photography.

Lifting heavy things: My piano and other furniture.

Ok, I'm not Pippi Longstocking, so I didn't literally "lift" the piano, but I shoved it from my music room to the far corner of the lounge, which entailed pushing the sofa out of the way and back again.  Oh, and lugging the stereo cabinet and speakers to a new position. There was also a small cabinet and a box of books to be moved in the opposite direction, and then I fetched an extra chair from the studio, and pushed a full dresser up the hallway.  That's about it, I think.  A reasonable workout.

I’d say quite a good workout. Something about moving furniture like that give such a feeling of satisfaction.

When I was perhaps 16 or 17 still at home, we had a lovely feast off of a lamb called Buddy. And a young steer (aka veal) named Buster. Both delicious. Dealt with humanely and served their original purpose.

And, yes, will be in touch when we’re ready to travel your way. A couple of years perhaps, but will happen.

How ironic that my hot water cylinder blew a fuse yesterday. Fortunately I am in the habit of taking a cold shower and it did not faze me. Also fortunately, we have a spare shower in the studio so dh was able to turn on the water up there and it was hot for him by morning, even if the pressure is pathetic.

Our tank is over 50 years old, we have been lucky it has lasted this long, DH still hopes it may be fixable, I am not sure. Perhaps we will need to replace it. Not the absolute best timing as we have wedding expenses too. We shall see.

DD is home, it's so nice, along with an entire carload of belongings. When she moves to her new little home those things will no longer be my concern.

Ate too much sugar at church concert, shopped for the week's groceries and planned a Christmas menu, which will need shopping for later.

Sorry about the hot water. I’ve never heard of a hot water tank lasting 50:years, at least not here in the US.

I’m sure your happy to have DD for a bit before the wedding.

Goodness gracious I have replaced 3 hot water tanks since I've lived here over 44 years.

Aw, to be with your DD prior to the wedding is a sweet time for everyone.  Hope it does not get too hectic.  Perhaps a tramp with her would provide some anxiety relief for her.  Just a thought.

There is lots of good news. We have hot water at home again. Much needed rain arrived.
My friend and I reached the falls we have been planning to visit.

The bad news is, I slipped on a rock and broke my radius and my arm is in an ugly and enormous cast, possibly for six weeks ie right past my daughter's wedding Sad

I am sorry to hear about your arm and the length of time you have to have the cast. Perhaps you could talk the dr. into something different as the time gets closer to the wedding. I think they periodically replace the cast.

Which arm, your primary one? I see you can still type....

So sorry, Annie.

Oh no! Not your arm and not right through the wedding. I like Pams suggestion, since you will have had the cast for approx 4 weeks prior to the wedding, maybe you can get them to remove it for the day or two to get through the wedding, or even switch it to an air cast at that point. You could remove that for pictures and such.

i'm happy you at least made it to the falls, so there was some good out of that hike.

Sending healing vibes and gentle hugs
