I did! Smile I will go tomorrow after church and make sure I am prepared for Monday. That way I can have a pajama day today. I have cleaned the bathrooms, masked my hair and face, and am shopping for shoes.

Happy day all.

I had to chuckle at Pedi telling you to stay home - the one who works every single day of the year. Smile. Yeah do what she says, not what she does. Smile

Hope you found some nice birki’s. I’ve never owned any, but people do swear by them. Maybe someday I’ll invest.

Hugs

Yes, it made me laugh that Pedi told me not to work I am glad she took her own advice yesterday!

I had a wonderful day!

I shopped online until 1:00ish. I bought three pairs of closed-toe birkis. Two of them were at one of those websites where people go to sell their stuff, sort of like an online garage sale. At that place I found a red pair, I LOVE red shoes. I pretend they are a neutral color and wear them with just about everything. That made me very happy. I wear mostly black, white, navy, and red with pops of other bright colors. I also bought a brown pair to go with my navy outfits. For some reason, I don't like black shoes with navy pants. Both pairs are barely worn, if at all, and were about $30 each. Then I found a pair of black flats that look like pumps at an outlet store in Europe somewhere. That was quite a find for Birkenstocks. They were about half price. All-in-all my shoe situation is all settled now. I also bought a bright yellow blouse to go with a new skirt at the garage sale place. I feel frugally accomplished now!

I spent the rest of the day crocheting. I started DS5's afghan at the beginning of the summer. His B-Day is Friday and I want to give it to him then. The problem is I have set it aside a number of times to work on other stuff and have ripped it out to start over several times. I love the pattern, but keep making mistakes or am not happy with the tension or some other issue. It is a ripple pattern of varying sizes of ripples from side to center to side. It has 3 ripples 3 stitches high, then a ripple 5 stitches high, then 7, then 9. Next, it has 10 ripples 3 stitches high, then a 9, a 7, a 5, and ends with 3 ripples 3 stitches high. I learned it was not a watch TV pattern. You are also only crocheting in the back loop. Once after I ripped it out, I decided it would go faster if I didn't crochet in the back loops. Anyway, i started all over yesterday with a simple moss or granite stitch. I can definitely mindlessly get that done. Smile

Today is church, work, and grocery store.

Happy day all!

Me too. Smile

The afghan is moving right along.

My biggest challenge right now is not working overtime. The pull is really strong.

When I am thirsty it feels like hungry. I know I am not drinking enough. I haven't been planning water well. I noticed yesterday I kept craving junk food. It has been a long time since that happened. I think it is because I am thirsty. I will try drinking more intentionally today.

Leave for Santa Fe tomorrow. A 2-day trip. If the meeting ends early enough Thursday I will drive home. If not, I will return on Friday.

M's brothers are coming for dinner Saturday and DS5s Bday celebration is Sunday. Can I make one pot of chili for both events and just add more ingredients Sunday if I didn't make enough for both meals? Seems like I can.

I hope the shoes work out well. I get Paul Green heels from a website in Germany for anywhere to a 1/4-1/2 off what they go for here in the states. They are one heeled shoe I can wear after the foot surgeries on my left foot.

I understand the pull to work overtime. Many times I have to make myself leave campus by 3 so I do not stay until 7.

Yes, you can stretch chili. Funny that is what is on the dinner menu for us tonight.

Hi all. I still don't know anything more. I am leaving for Santa Fe this morning to attend a series of meetings. I am coming back tomorrow, but at least I will be closer to Albuquerque if I am needed. I don't have a laptop anymore. DD2s is on the fritz in St. Louis, so I sent her mine. If I find out more I will update on my phone.
