Much cooler today. We had a bit of drama last night - a bush fire near by lit up the sky, producing an apocalyptic atmosphere and dense smoke. I found it quite difficult to breathe outside, so mostly stayed in with the A/C on. Luckily a cool change roared through, and although the winds were problematic there was also a bit of rain. So the fire is out and today is borderline cool!

Thank goodness the fire is out and you are safe. I’m it was difficult to breathe. Thankful you had AC and could be inside.

Sorry about the fire and air quality! I hope it wasn't too close to you - how scary!

Found out that not only is the fire not out, it could burn for weeks, Sad. But the air is much better.

Church today - our last visit to the church we have attended here. A bit sad.

I am sorry to hear about the fire and the poor air quality. I am from Northern California so I understand how tough it can be. Staying inside with the ac going is sometimes the wisest course of action, especially if you have any respiratory issues.

Take care!

So sorry you will have to leave a church home you have enjoyed. Praying the one you find with your next move will be just as good, if not better.

The church farewell was lovely and bittersweet...perhaps we will be back, but surely we will find another spiritual home. Smile

The wind changed and we are smoked again! Makes me wheeze!

Frankenstein was a well crafted story. It surprised me that the originally written creature was intelligent and hurt by betrayal. I think Percy Shelly, the poet, was her husband.

I'm sure you will. Smile

Yikes! Hope inside the house the air is still clean enough for you, DH and all pets.

The move, as bittersweet as it is, seems to be coming at a good time. Here is to new places to explore, fresh air, a welcoming church, and a safe place for Lucy to run.

If we slow down and drop our resistance to work’s unpleasantness, we discover that we are resourceful enough to be daring, free from fear and arrogance. Such confidence enables us to know instinctively which situations need to be confronted, which should be nourished, and which can be disregarded.

Are fires there a regular occurrence? Is there any threat to you?

Unfortunately yes, and we are in the throes of a drought. This fire was deliberately set, I’m sad to say. But we are in no danger here.

One of the difficult things about moving is saying goodbye to friends - last week one set went off to new beginnings, and this week another couple leaves. We will, of course, keep in touch. Next week we will join the exodus!

Running is going very well, I LOVE Galloway’s walk/run program. I have finished each run full of energy and wanting more, something I didn’t think possible! And very much looking forward to the next run.

So happy you are loving Galloway. I need to re-read his book. I did a long time ago, as it was recommend by a friend.

So sorry for the bittersweet goodbyes.
