"Life" indeed. It just keeps coming, but you are a strong, strong woman. As V said above, take care, and do allow others to take care of you where/when possible. More hugs!

+1 on the morphine. Hope dad's hand is nothing serious. Glad you have strong kids to be there for you. Please make sure to schedule "self-care" into your busy days.

Thank you everyone, not sure what I do without my tribe here.

So some updates - mom is home and feeling good. They got out about 6500 the same as last time. So guess is she will be back the week after next.

Dad - haven’t heard about the X-ray

DH - having trouble getting sats due to the low BP and I’m sure lack of output isn’t helping matters. 75cc over the time the nurse was here and maybe 25 since. Not sure he will make it to morphine.

Morphine will be going through his G-tube. I have alerted immediate family if they want to stop by before we give the first dose. It won’t be delivered until tomorrow afternoon, pharmacy had to order.

At this point, his mom is coming in the morning and his brother after work, but said don’t withhold comfort to wait for him. Not sure about his sisters but they’ve both been here in the past two days. My brother wants to remember his as he was, so he is not coming.

The nursing supervisor is going to come if I need her and when all is over to declare.

We will see what the next 24-48 hours brings.

Fun, fun - NOT

Hi All,

It’s over. DH gained his angel wings just after 1 AM this morning.

A new process of healing begins.

It was in my thoughts that I would find that DH is no longer caged in a failing body and is able to dance and run to his heart's content when I opened your journal today. It is with mixed feelings that I find I was right. Please know that I type this with tears running down my face for the pain your family is going through right now, because as much as it was anticipated it is still a shock when it happens.

I know I have said this before, but please take the time to care for yourself and permission to have mixed feelings and to go through the stages of grief.

Pedidoc says it well. I too have strong mixed feelings, great sorrow for your loss, but also relief for you and your family now that the long, long battle is finally over. My prayers continue for you and family that your time of healing will be short and that you all can move forward successfully.

I'm crying for you. I'm crying for your kids. I'm crying for your husband. I'm crying for all the memories life has stolen from your family. I'm crying for all of you despite the fact that I've never met you.

May peace and comfort that he no longer suffers envelop your family in this incredibly sad time. Please allow others to take care of you.

You are in my thoughts today. I hope you can feel the love and support we all send you in waves across the Universe today and in the hard days to come.

Many, many hugs, my friend.

We have raised a glass to Brian, and another to you and your children. We are all thinking of you and wishing we had some sort of magic to make things easier, but our love and thoughts will have to do. We are always here for you.

Re: Narrowminded Continues - part 2

Thank you everyone.

For the moment, I at least am doing fairly well. I’ve done a lot of grieving over the last 14 years. I’m sure things will hit me later, but now a lot of it is relief that he is no longer suffering or struggling. He is flying free.

The kids are doing ok too. They also have moment. DD and I are headed to find clothes. I have no winter dress clothes since I haven’t been out in years.

It will feel weird actually leaving the house unincumbered. My neighbor is coming to sit as I know I have one delivery coming but never sure about that in this situation. Plus my dog is not used to being in an empty house. He very rarely has been.

Just trying to finalize all the stuff for the funeral.

I did get lots of sleep last night

9h 4m sleep 1h 15m Awake, 2h 3m RM, 5h 22m light, 1h 39m deep

The awake was from 3:30 on mostly. Woke with a nasty headache, got up and took Tylenol then could sleep again.

Hugs

I'm glad you are doing well. It may turn out that you are grieved out, it has been such a long haul and a no-win situation for DH that your relief in having him freed of the suffering will offset your loss. At least I hope it works out in that way for you.

It's ok to feel weird about being free to go out.  Oh, the things so many of us take for granted. I hope you find just what you need as you share precious time with your daughter.
