Thank you Annie, it’s actually still Christmas Eve on this part of the planet. Just a bit after noon time. Family will be here for dinner.

Hoping you are enjoying Christmas with all of your family today.

I never updated about Christmas Eve. All of DH’s fam was here. It was a wonderful time. DBIL thought of FaceTiming from the LR where gifts were being opened, to the bedroom where he was. I was able to hang the iPad on his voice computer and he could be involved that way. It was awesome. He had a wonderful gift in that.

Christmas Day was laid back. Had a wonderful dinner with the kids.

Today was back to work for me.

It’s been good

Thanks all.

Today was a bit crazy with work, but survived. Have things on the todo list for work tomorrow as well. I will have some help with DH so hopefully I can get out of the house a bit as well.

Eating, the past few days has been up, and down with the Holiday. Planning a W30 for Jan. These last few days will be as close as possible to compliant heading into the new year

Good luck with the W30. I've looked at them but never tried it. Let us know how it goes.

JG -- last year NM managed the W30 for almost the entire year!

I know she can do this again. Right, NM?

Re: Narrowminded continues

Post by Narrowminded on Fri Dec 29, 2017 9:23 am

Pam is correct, I did do W30 for quite a bit. I was totally compliant for 90 days, then let in a bit of bacon and some 85% Chocolate. Stayed that course until somewhere in the summer (I started the day after Thanksgiving). Then loosened a bit more.

Around about Oct, lots of different stressors, DD off to grad school and I slipped and the slope got a bit steeper as I went. Over this past week I’ve been trying to right the ship for Jan 1 start

I lost about 40 last year and put back about 8 during the slide, so my goal is to get that 8 back off and maybe a few more. Probably 1/2 is water from inflammation

I will say my first W30 I white knuckled and felt awful and swore I’d never do another and sling shot back to awful eating. Then the next year I did my second. It went much better.

Then last Nov approx 1.5 years from the second I did my third. Best advise is to relax into the processes. I also found i needed the 90 days to make things stick. While I did slide as I mentioned up above it was no where near what it could be, and i feel uncomfortable because of it. So time to reset once again.

Another piece of advice is depending how strictly primal you are, how much detox you’ll go thru will vary. So if you’ve gotten off the path, I’d suggest at least a week of reigning it in, your body will thank you for the slow transition.

Missed yesterday. Way too much on my plate lately. All these things I want to do, but dividing up my free time while taking care of DH leaves a lot undone.

Did exchange 2 sweaters DD bought me for Christmas that were too big. Started a puzzle that DD’s BF got me and separated some yarn for my next project. That was after a good amount of work work that needed done.

Today I’m at the office. Just in case the phone rings. So I can catch up here.

Annie, yes both are progressing, but I need to get out of the house. Going stir crazy.

JG, you can do it, rally just a matter of deciding you will and sticking with it. First week is the hardest, then you can relax into the program and it just becomes second nature

DH and I are signing up to Walk 1000 miles in 2018 with a walking magazine we read. I will think about the W30. A lot of my fat intake comes from dairy so I will have to plan.

Hey, 1000 miles, that's a cool goal.  Are you going to do them through beautiful terrain or just anywhere as you walk through your days?

For me that would be 1600km or 30km per week.  I don't think any of my hikes have covered that much distance, biggest would be 19km.  Hmm.

NM, new year blessings to you.

Thank you Annie, same to you.

1000 miles that sounds intersting and doable. Might give that some thought tonight

Quiet day so far.

Re: Narrowminded continues

Post by Narrowminded on Mon Jan 01, 2018 7:21 pm

Thanks Pam.

Actually those 1000 miles breaks down to about 2.75 mi/day. If you calculate all your walking through the day, quite doable. A 10,000/day step goal gets you there and more.

However that said, not even close to that for me today. I woke with a nasty headache and despite several tactics to resolve it, it’s still with me. This included a med induced nap as well. So my start to 2018 was not very pleasant.
