Congrats, Pedi. This sounds like a very nice promotion for you, with an even bigger "to come" getting to Assistant Dean.

So well deserved and earned!  I am so happy for you for the recognition of your professionalism and accomplishments, not to mention the raise!  And a formal title is pretty cool, too king

Kathi - huge congrats on the first move with the second pending on it’s heels. That is so fantastic.

Hopefully by next Wed you can lose all the compression garments as well.

Thanks, Tomi. It is not something I ever aspired to. The President of the university made the decision. I can only think he has been impressed with what we've accomplished so far.

Thank you, Connie.  I am still in a bit of shock.  Additionally, I got the John S. Dunn, Sr. and Jerome L. Howard Professorship of Excellence in Clinical Nursing Practice endowment.  Cool

Compression garments will probably stay, but maybe the foam insert and needle aspirations can go.

I bet bestowing this upon you was hard to keep quiet until the conference. Well done Missy! You have worked hard and had the courage to bring up the problem employee in the first place. Cheers.

Re: the endowment. I do not understand. Does this mean you will decide who gets the scholarship?

The Dean likes you although why wouldn't she? Congratulations.

Thank you, Annieh. I am ready for the healing to be at the point I can do activities again. It is very frustrating.

The president of the university had to make the final decision. He is the one who wanted interim removed from the appointment letter. The endowment is money given to either supplement my salary or partially cover my salary. I will find out when I get the letter Tuesday.

Sounds like Tuesday will be the big day. Hope the endowment will be a net gain for you, over and above the salary.

Re: Moving Forward Toward Better Health

Post by Pedidoc on Sat Apr 21, 2018 9:53 am

Really decent sleep last night. Doing the hotel room coffee thing again while catching up. I need to catch up on evaluating the sessions I've attended.

I had a neutral professional reply from the current chair picking two of the days/times I offered up yesterday to get started on the transfer. I took the high road and gave her some praise in my reply. I am not looking forward to spending extensive lengths of time with her but will suck it up for the benefit of the school and students.

Another long day of meetings. I am not going to the formal dinner tonight. I did not think I would feel up to it, so did not pack anything appropriate to wear. I'm not sure if I will do room service or venture out to forage for dinner. It will depend on how my energy level is.

I was in my room by 3:30 and in my nightgown shortly thereafter. Did a phone conference with a student. Rested a bit. Ordered room service. Now I am getting ready to crash early. Tomorrow, I have 2 early morning sessions, but my plane does not leave until after 5. I have a late checkout, so may try to catch a nap prior to the airport.

I like how you look out for yourself. Retreating to your room and making the decision to stay in and the late checkout were good for you.

Safe, no hassle travels to you!

Thanks, TW. I remember all the support I got a little over a year ago when I was devastated by the evaluation she gave me. Looking back, she probably thought I would leave. I am so very glad the forum helped me to vent and be able to stay. Smile
