Hi from Florida. Great to be here.

Post by Labtech on Sun Dec 31, 2017 4:11 pm

I'm here to ask for help. -- First a little bit about me: I'm a typical success story. I've lost weight, got off meds, feel great. Been doing this since 2012. I run circles around most 57 yr olds. I've got this. But my wife and daughter are another story. I will be posting in the Women's subtopic for advise in helping them.... Thanks to everyone here thru the years for the motivation and advise. You may not know it, but you are very instrumental in changing and very possibly saving my life. Looking forward to continuing with this journey. Thanks, Wiley.. aka Labtech.

Congrats to you on your continuing success. I look forward to reading about your wife and daughter on whatever their issues are. FWIW, if the main issue is lack of interest, you are in for a long tough effort, as you no doubt already know.

Thanks Rig D. You are right I feel like I'm up against a thick brick wall with them, but I hate to see them suffer with their health problems. Hopefully I'll find some insight from you wise ones that I haven't thought of that will give them the spark they need.

Hi Wiley/Labtech! Welcome aboard. You've done very well indeed.

Good luck with finding some answers to help your DW and DD too.

Welcome Labtech. You’ve done awesome from what you’ve posted.

I’m going out on a limb with the first tip. Let your healing speak louder than your words. Often times pressure (while you may not feel like you’re pressuring), just makes them turn a deaf ear.

I know your concern and I’ve done the same with my mom, however if they’re not ready, no amount of words, proof or anything else will help. They have to want it for themselves.

That said, I’ll be keeping them in my thoughts that they will see how much better you feel and will want to try it for themselves

Welcome! Just lead by example. When they see your results, they might give it a try.

When my daughter saw my results, she decided to try to give up grains and dairy. She now knows she feels better when she does.

I'd agree with Narrowminded and others that the other person has to really want it for themselves. I'm a stay-at-home-mother and my husband is not on board with primal at this time, so the best I can do is prepare quality, healthy meals for them. But I can't order for them at restaurants, I can't tell my husband what to buy at the grocery store, I can't force him not to eat pizza or perogies or sandwiches.

So while I understand what you're trying to do, how you're feeling, and the frustration of trying to adhere to one lifestyle while your significant other is doing something else, the best way to convey the benefits of the system may be to simply thrive where you are, and hopefully they'll want it too.

Best of luck to you!

Thank-you, everyone for the great advice and insight. See you at the Women's subforum. I took so long to reply because I work 64+ hrs a week and I have very little free time.... but I appreciate and carefully read all the replies, thanks for help.
