I'll trade ya'..... Today it's -30 Celcius ( -22 F) and expecting 15 cm ( 6 inches) of snow every 12 hours for the next two days.

I miss Texas! Crying or Very sad

Stay warm and keep safe! Maybe you'll get lucky and tomorrow will be declared a snow day. Wink

Ouch! That’s cold!

I was in Texas in July.. I miss it too...

They already have declared it a “snow day”... but here, if we get more than an inch this place shuts down, essentially...

Yeah, most of the nation is enjoying a real blast of global warming. Lots of over 3" snow in the deep south, where that's a real event. We haven't seen 20F in a while, will be a while longer.

Sadly it seems that it is going to be a long haul until spring.

Texas: I was on a project located near Dallas one summer. I distinctly remember the national weather map looked like a bullseye target with the center right on DFW, over 100F. Was like that for at least a week.

I’m burning trees to increase my carbon foot print... and to warm up...

Sounds like a typical Texas summer!

My major snow dumps were well before Christmas with slight snow since. Nothing that needs shoveling (my exercise).

Deep enough to make walking around the yard difficult. So I shovel paths where I normally walk. Yea, gluten for punishment.

Happy New Year doc.

Hi doc.

Glad to see you here.
Hope you work out the schedule of things.

Which DNA test did you take? I believe due to family lore, that my ancestors were Scottish as well. I am looking for a test that gets more specific than just "British Isles".

I have done the Ancestry DNA test and am waiting results.  I also gave one to my mom for Christmas and she is waiting for her results also.

They don’t take all that long... I think I got my results back in about 4-5 weeks...

Well, heck.. had a “long post” working, and I lost it... darn it!

Synopsis, work going well, weather sucks.. Diet back on track, Christmas weight gain is nearly all gone. Am using “Bullet Proof Coffee” to get fat calories..my take on it anyway... butter, heavy cream, coconut oil, and whip it with a blender stick... fat and caffeine for the win!

Happy, happy, Doc! bounce

Most of those I miss are here, but do you know where Dave is? He always had a funny view on things.

So good to see you,

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes! I greatly appreciate them..

It’s been a good bit since my last post, and not a lot has happened... except life, maybe.
Am currently attending a course on the handling of patients involved in nuclear accidents... having to remember a lot of stuff I knew 20 years ago... sometimes recall is a little slow... this too shall pass..
it looks like a busy travel year for me this year.. 2 conferences, 2 training courses... and one of the courses is in the Great White North! Up in the Walrus’s former stomping grounds, so to speak..

Hey J! Good to see ya! I lost track of Dave when MDA died...

Started re-reading Volek and Finney’s book on low carb diets the other day... Christmas killed anything that resembled a “diet”... and Had been stalled on what I was doing before. Reading their book my help me fix what I was doing wrong... so onward we go! Eating keto on the road is difficult!

So good to hear from you, doc! Hope you have a great training course - the Great White North is very good for that.

I'm a bit stalled myself - a couple of pounds rolled off after I arrived here, and nothing since then, and although I never touch gluten I've touched plenty of other stuff...

The course is in Tennessee... and we are supposed to get snow tomorrow... in April I head to New Hampshire... May get snow there too! It’s a good course... some of the math is unfamiliar, but it’s not calculus... but because it is unfamiliar, I kinda feel like the class dunce.. like a kidney stone, this too shall pass.... it may be painful, but it shall pass!
